Single Clam Fossil Specimen in Plastic Case
The Clam (Mollusca Bivalvia) belongs to the Mollusk family. This filter feeder has two calcareous shells, which are joined together. This fossil clam lived during the Mesozoic period, approximately 65 million years ago. The Clam is attached to an identification card and adhered to it's protective, plastic case. Plastic case features a removable top, which allows the fossil to be touched and more closely observed. Perfect for science classroom observation, but also makes a great gift for budding paleontologists and specimen collectors.Plastic case measures 2.5" long, 1.75" wide and 0.75" in height. Specimen is approximately 0.5" in size, but due to it's authentic nature, exact size will vary.
