Single Sand Dollar Fossil Specimen in Plastic Case
The Sand Dollar (Mellita Quinquiesperforata) belongs to the echinoderm family, and is given its name due to it's round, flat shape. This fossil originates from Madagascar and lived during the Mesozoic period, approximately 100 million years ago. The Sand Dollar is attached to an identification card and adhered to it's protective, plastic case. Plastic case features a removable top, which allows the fossil to be touched and more closely observed. Perfect for science classroom observation, but also makes a great gift for budding paleontologists and specimen collectors.Plastic case measures 2.5" long, 1.75" wide and 0.75" in height. Specimen is approximately 0.5" in size, but due to it's authentic nature, exact size will vary.
